The Vocational aptitude diploma for socio-educational officer (DAP Éducation) prepares you for work in an education and care structure, for example in crèches for children aged 0 to 4, in daycare centres for children aged 4 to 12, or in care structures for young people.
Places of work
- education and care establishments for children (maisons relais, parental assistants, day centres or school hostels, crèches, mini-crèches);
- primary schools (A-EBS).
Missions
- observe children of different ages and recognise their needs;
- look gently after infants;
- supporting the development of (young) children and helping to create a space where they can experiment freely and flourish.
Studies
The initial training of the socio-educational officer lasts three years, full-time, and takes place at the school. At the heart of this training are five six-week placements, giving an insight into working with children.
For adult training, an apprenticeship contract in a childcare facility is required. Adult apprentices spend two days at school and three days at the training company.
