Daily care assistant (m/f)

The daily care assistant works across the entire social sector and contributes to the care of different groups (children, seniors) in everyday life: participating in care, helping to organize educational and social activities, or supporting a family in managing the household. They must have language skills in the country’s three languages (Luxembourgish, French and German), which are essential for providing high-quality care to the people concerned.

 

Places of work

  • Facilities for the elderly (retirement homes, nursing homes, care services and other geriatric services);
  • facilities for persons with special needs (day care, residential homes and other inclusive services);
  • facilities for non-formal education (maisons relais, nurseries).

Studies

The course leading to the Certificat de capacité professionnelle (CCP) Assistant d’accompagnement au quotidien lasts two years, with one day a week at school and four days in the workplace. It is also possible to complete this CCP as part of adult training or as on-the-job training.

The course lasts two years, with two days of school and three days on the job in the first year. In the second year, there is one day of school and four days on the job.

Training for adults follows the same structure. On-the-job training involves only one day of school and four days at the company during the two years of training.

The CCP Assistant d’accompagnement au quotidien is offered in French and German at the following establishments:

  • Initial training:
    • Lycée du Nord Wiltz;
    • Lycée Bel-Val;
    • Bouneweger Lycée Luxembourg;
    • Lycée technique du Centre;
    • Maacher Lycée Grevenmacher.
  • on-the-job training:
    • Lycée technique pour professions de santé;
  • adult education:
    • École nationale pour adultes (ENAD).
