The Conseil supérieur de l’Éducation nationale (CSEN) is an advisory body issuing opinions, either upon request of the minister or upon its own initiative, on any issues regarding national education and more specifically the broader apects of the education system.
It has 36 members:
- representatives of parents, pupils and students;
- teaching staff;
- school authorities (council of directors of elementary education, council of directors of secondary education, municipalities, officially recognised religions, etc.);
- the economic, social, association and cultural sectors.
