Master craftman’s diploma (Brevet de maîtrise)

The master craftsman’s diploma gives you the right to set up a business in the craft sector in a self-employed capacity, to train apprentices or to hold a senior position within a craft, industrial or commercial business. The master craftsman’s diploma grants the title of master craftsman (maître-artisan) in the given trade.

Courses to prepare for the master craftsman’s diploma are organised by the Chambre des métiers (Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts).

To enrol in the courses, applicants must hold a vocational aptitude diploma (DAP) or submit proof of recognised equivalent qualifications. Holders of a secondary school leaving diploma, a technician’s diploma or a higher education diploma (BTS, Bachelor, Master, PhD, etc.) may also be admitted.
