Youth policy has both a sector-specific and a cross-sectoral dimension.
It creates the framework and provides the resources that enable various actors in the youth sector to carry out work targeted to the needs of young people.
Beyond this sector-specific aspect, youth policy also includes a cross-sectoral component. This is reflected, for example, in the research work on the situation of young people, taking a holistic approach to their life paths. Moreover, the participation of young people themselves is encouraged in all areas concerning them, thus further strengthening this cross-sectoral dimension.
Youth policy develops this framework in a structured dialogue with stakeholders such as youth centres, youth organisations, youth services and municipalities.
